Sightseeing in Singapore part 1

Negara yg luasnya enggak ada apa-apanya dibandingkan dengan Jakarta ini, memang punya daya tarik yg luar biasa. walaupun bisa dibilang enggak ada wisata alam yg bisa dijual, tapi tetap saja banyak yg berbondong-bondong mengunjungi negeri singa ini.

kalau dipikir-pikir, di Singapur itu serba mahal, sehingga living cost-nya paling tinggi di Asia Tenggara. sudah begitu banyak aturan, yg gw yakin kalau aturan seperti ini diterapkan di Indonesia pasti banyak yg berteriak melanggar HAM lah, blablabla….

wisatanya juga kalau dilihat hanya wisata belanja, seperti Bugis Village, Little India, Chinatown, atau sale besar-besaran di mall sepanjang Orchard Road; kemudian Sentosa Island dengan Universal Studio & kasino; daerah Esplanade dengan patung Merlion, teater, dan yg terbaru adalah Marina Bay Sands Hotel yg super duper mahal. kalah jauh dengan wisata Indonesia.

tapi dengan promosi wisatanya yg bagus, ditambah keseriusan mereka dalam mengemasnya, keamanan yg baik dan ditunjang transportasi yg nyaman, efisien & tepat waktu sehingga mudah untuk mengunjungi antara satu spot dengan spot lainnya, membuat wisatawan merasa nyaman berada disini. jalan kaki pun enggak memberatkan dengan tingkat polusi yg rendah ditambah jalanan yg bersih & aman.

kunjungan gw ke Singapur ini sudah dua kali, dimana kedua-duanya gw enggak menginap. jadi memang hanya sightseeing saja. kalau perjalanan pertama dari KL by sleeping train, sedang yg kedua, gw memulai dari Jakarta – Singapore by plane, kemudian menuju Johorbahru by bus.

Terminal 2D Cengkareng

seperti biasa, trip kali ini bisa terlaksana berkat Airasia dng tiket murahnya. sesuai slogannya now everyone can fly.

berempat naik Express Taxi yg sudah dipesan sehari sebelumnya, karena kalau mau berangkat di bawah jam 7 pagi, enggak bisa pesan saat itu juga. berbeda dengan Blue Bird, tapi taripnya selisih sekitar 15 ribu rupiah.

bisa juga menggunakan bus Damri

If you are transiting in Singapore and have at least 5 hours to spare before your connecting flight, you can register for a 2 hour sightseeing tour of Singapore, with a choice of a Colonial Tour or Cultural Tour. Registration is based on first-come-first-serve basis.

Registration timing and operating hours : 7.00am to 3.30pm, daily

Tour timings : 9.00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm, 3.00pm, 4.00pm

3D Xperience Zone

kalau ini sepertinya cuma ada di Terminal 2 Departure Transit Lounge. di area ini, kita bisa nonton film 3D, nonton acara sport di layar lebar, main 3D game dan interactive photo.

selain itu, di dalam airport jg ada garden, dan biasanya di area departure transit lounge jg tersedia kursi yg nyaman buat tidur. pokoknya mantap dah.

σ To & From Airport

Buses

To City : Public bus service 36 goes to the city. The first bus arrives at around 6.00am and the last leaves at midnight. A single fare costs below $2.00 and takes about an hour. Bus stops are located at the basement bus bays of Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Please prepare the exact fare as no change will be given.

MRT

The Changi Airport MRT Station is accessible via the basement of Terminal 2 and basement 2 level of Terminal 3. Passengers from Terminal 1 may use the Skytrain to get to Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 to access the trains. Passengers from Budget Terminal may use the free shuttle bus service to Terminal 2 to access the trains.

The arrival and departure times of MRT trains at Changi Airport station are as follows:

A one-way single fare to/from the city costs less than $3.00 (inclusive of S$1.00 refundable deposit) and takes approximately 27 minutes.

To get to the city, passengers need to transfer to the west bound train at Tanah Merah train station.

Coach to Johor Bahru by Transtar Travel

The service will start at coach stands at Terminals 1, 2, 3, the Budget Terminal at Changi Airport, and end at Kotaraya II Terminal.

One-way fares from Changi Airport to Johor Bahru are S$7 for adults and S$3.50 for children. From Johor Bahru, adults will pay RM7, while children will pay RM3.50.

Frequency is set at every 60 minutes.

The first bus leaves Changi Airport & Johor Bahru at 6.50am & 5.00am respectively.

Last departures at Changi Airport & Kotaraya II are scheduled at 11.50pm & 10.00pm respectively. click pic above for full schedule.

SMRT

SMRT operates three main rail lines :

  • the North South Line which runs from Marina Bay Station to Jurong East Station via Woodlands Station.
  • the East West Line which runs from Pasir Ris Station to Joo Koon Station.
  • the Circle Line, which runs from Dhoby Ghaut Station to Marymount Station.

Interchange Station :

Change trains at Dhoby Ghaut Station, Outram Park Station or Serangoon Station.

For commuters headed to the Singapore Expo Centre or travellers bound for Singapore Changi Airport, hop on board the Singapore Changi Airport Express which calls at Tanah Merah Station.
